JEROME’S GEAR

Sticks: NE1 and ESticks

“Vic’s NE Sticks have the perfect balance and weight for the various styles I play. The barrel tip gives me a nice, even round/ full cymbal tone. The taper is perfect for speed and rebound.

ESticks are slightly longer than the average stick, and the tip is large and pronounced. The length helps me reach my Roland SPDS-X sampling pads. The tips allow me to play with precision when using the sampling pads. The weight and balance work great for heavier styles. Plus, the taper is perfect for speed and rebound.”

Brushes: Heritage Brush and Legacy

“Vic’s Heritage Brush are the perfect classic retractable brush. I love them in any jazz or singer setting.

I use Vic’s Legacy Brush when I need heavier brush grooves. i.e., classic blues, bluegrass, samba. They are perfect for when I want a brush texture change without sacrificing volume.”

Mallets: T1, T3, T4 and 5A Dual Tone

“T1, T3, and T4 Tympani Mallets sound amazing on drums and cymbals alike. I use the T4 mallet for a warmer sound on woodblocks and cowbells but also for a more pointed attack on drums.

Vic’s Dual Tone is perfect when I need to switch quickly from sticks to mallets in the blink of an eye! The 5A tip sounds sweet on any cymbal.”

Why does Jerome use Craviotto drums?

“Consistency. The drums effortlessly sing regardless of the drumhead of choice. I play a variety of styles, and Craviotto drums provide the versatility in sound that I need to create. I love the quick and crisp response I get out of my snare drums.”

Kits: Walnut Shell & Mahogany Shell (all-natural finish)

“The walnut is sonically darker in tone. I use this kit primarily for straight ahead/ acoustic music 18” BD 8x12 Tom and 14x14

The Mahogany kit(s) I own were a recommendation from Johnny Craviotto after a lengthy phone conversation regarding what my musical goals were.

Bass Drum 16x22

Rack toms 8x10, 8x12

Floor toms 14x14, and 16x16

I play this kit for heavier or more electrical musical styles.

I used the walnut kit on my debut recording, The Beast, and on my second recording, Solidarity, I used the Mahogany kit with an 18” bass drum.”
